The Business Unit Airborne Composite Tubulars is established in 2007 as part of the Airborne Composites company. We develop, sell and manufacture the following continuous high-end thermoplastic tubulars for the Oil & Gas Industry:
- Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe (RTP)
- Thermoplastic Composite Pipe for Coiled Tubing (TCP)
- Offshore Service Intervention Lines
- Thermoplastic Composite Riser (TCR)
- High Pressure Lines
Besides the baseline products, we work on special projects for clients, whereby the specific benefits and characteristics of composites create new opportunities. These include:
- Auxiliary lines for risers (e.g. Kill & Choke lines)
- LNG transport lines
- Applications for which the electric, magnetic insulation properties are a prerequisite
- Applications in which the chemical resistance properties are important
The continuous thermoplastic tubulars developed by Airborne have a fully bonded solid wall, fibre reinforced, resulting in a composite tubular with burst, collapse and tensile strength capabilities. The use of thermoplastic materials throughout the tubing wall result in a ductile, spoolable tubular, insensitive to fatigue.
Our current production line capability extends to continuous pipe systems up to 3.5 inch OD using Glass & Carbon fibres and various polymer materials to provide the optimal solution for each application.
