The Business Unit Airborne Composite Tubulars was established in 2007 as part of the Airborne Composites company. We are developing and manufacturing discrete length and continuous high-end thermoplastic tubulars. Based on extensive market research a number of products have been identified which are being developed in joint projects with clients in the industry.
The continuous thermoplastic tubulars developed by Airborne have a fully bonded solid wall, fibre reinforced, resulting in a tubular with high internal, external and tensile strength capabilities. The use of thermoplastic materials throughout the tubing wall result in a ductile, spoolable tubular, insensitive to fatigue.
Airborne proprietary analysis software allows us to analyse, understand, predict and simulate the different failure modes of composite tubulars under all different and combined load cases. These include internal and external pressure, tension, fatigue, creep and bending.
A production line is under construction and will be in operation in the last quarter of 2008.
